The 6’1, 180 pound junior outfielder comes off an outstanding sophomore season at Creighton in which he was Named the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player, going 10-for-16 (.625) with a .875 slugging percentage and seven runs driven in. Gerber, who started in 57 out of Creighton’s 58 games in 2012, was selected on the MVC All-Defense Team. The New York Yankees drafted Gerber in the 40th round his senior year of high school in 2010.

Alec Keller is a senior IF/OF from Princeton University and Richmond, VA.  He is a 2012 All-Ivy selection and ended up 2nd in the Ivy League with at .378 BA.  He is a career .316 hitter.  The Schooners look to Alec for consistent hitting and leadership from the 2B position.

2012: First-team All-Ivy selection as a utility player … played in 34 games, starting 31 … second-best batting average on the team at .346 … tallied 47 hits, 22 runs, 18 RBI, four doubles and a triple … was 6-for-8 in stolen base attempts

Boston College - Sophomore
West Haven, CT

The defending NECBL champion Newport Gulls have added pitching depth to their 2013 roster with the acquisition of Boston College sophomore right-handed pitcher Stone is 1-0 with a 7.48 ERA in 13 appearances (four starts) as a sophomore at Boston College this spring. Utilized mainly as a reliever, Stone has allowed just 19 runs (18 earned) on 32 hits with nine walks and 10 strikeouts in 21.2 innings of work.
