Mountaineers Home Game
Playoff Scenarios
MONTPELIER, VT – With the Vermont Mountaineers ticket to the
postseason already punched, here is a rundown of potential home
games for the first round of the NECBL playoffs:
With a win tomorrow night against the Concord Quarry Dogs or a
Keene Swamp Bats loss, the Mountaineers will clinch at least
second place in the Northern Division and home-field advantage
in the first round. Game One of the NECBL First Round Playoff
will happen on Thursday night with Game Three to be played on
Saturday if necessary.
If the Swamp Bats win out while the Mountaineers lose their
remaining two games, this will result in Game Two of the First
Round to be played at Recreation Field on Friday night.
The Mountaineers also have a chance at winning the regular
season title of the Northern Division, which will guarantee
home-field until the Northern Division Championship Series. For
this to happen, the Mountaineers must win both of their games
this week and the Holyoke Giants must lose their game on
Wednesday against the North Adams Steeplecats. If the
Mountaineers are in first place, the second round games would be
scheduled for Monday and Wednesday at Recreation Field.
