NAVIGATORS ANNOUNCE FREE ADMISSION TO
2009 PLAYOFF GAMES
LYNN, MA (July 30, 2009) –
As a “thank you” to their loyal fans, the North Shore Navigators
are opening up Fraser Field to all for the 2009 NECBL Playoffs.
The Navigators will not charge a price for admission to
post-season games in Lynn, as the Navigators attempt to win
their first NECBL Championship this season.
The Navigators will begin the post-season against the Sanford
Mainers, who won the 2008 NECBL Championship Series. The
first-round, best-of-three series will begin on Sunday, August 2
from Goodall Park in Sanford, Maine at 6:30 P.M. The teams will
then come to Lynn on Monday, August 3 to play game two of the
series at 7:00 P.M. from Fraser Field. If necessary, game three
will be played in Sanford on Tuesday, August 4 at 6:30 P.M.
The Navigators are pleased to offer free admission to their
playoff games after an extremely successful season at Fraser
Field. Attendance figures were increased by nearly 50%, while
thousands of dollars were donated to local charities as part of
the Navigators 50/50 Community Nights, in which little leagues
and other charitable groups sold tickets to a designated
Navigators game and kept half of the money raised from ticket
sales to benefit their organization.
The North Shore Navigators are currently 20-20 and have clinched
a post-season berth for the second time in as many years since
the franchise moved to Lynn. Last season, the Navigators were
26-16, but the Keene Swamp Bats upset North Shore in the first
round. The 2009 squad appears primed for a playoff-run; the
pitching trio of 2009 All-Star Jeff Tardiff (4-2, 1.40), 2008
All-Star Jason Markovitz (4-1, 2.57), and 2009 All-Star Mike
Gallo (3-3, 2.36) will get the ball in the first round.
The North Shore Navigators led the NECBL with four All-Star
starters, including Gallo, who was the East Division starting
pitcher. Patrick Brady, who leads the team with three home runs
and 21 runs batted in, was the starting second basemen. Ben
Waldrip, a Medford, MA native, was the starting first baseman,
while Tre Dennis, who has reached base safely in 32 consecutive
games, was a starting outfielder. Boston College reliever Chris
Kowalski was also the designated closer for the East Division;
Kowalski leads North Shore with six saves.
Fans can follow all of the post-season action by listening to or
watching the games through the Teamline NECBL Broadcast Network.
Teamline can be accessed at www.teamline.cc; type in “North
Shore” when prompted for a team code, and click the link to

LynnCamTV through your local cable access programming on both
Comcast and Verizon.
