Central
Michigan and Georgia State Athletes Join Dukes
Pitchers Jake Sabol and Adam
Knight Join Dukes Staff
April 29,
2008) The Pittsfield Dukes added two right arms to their
pitching staff as they bring in Jake Sabol from Central Michigan
and Adam Knight from Georgia State..
Jake Sabol, a Redshirt Junior from Shelby Twp, Mich comes to
Pittsfield, MA to join the Dukes Pitching Staff. The 65 right
hander sat out his first year in 2007 but in 2008 is getting his
chance to show what hes got. So far Jake has been seeing a lot
of time in the relief role as he finished four games for the
Chippewas. Before attending Central Michigan Jake earned Varsity
Letters in Baseball and Basketball winning district
championships in both sports. Studying Sports Science, Jake
aspires to be a head baseball coach or General Managers for a
baseball team.
Assistant Coach for the Chippewas, Mike Villano has nothing but
promising things to say about Jake. Jake is a really great kid
and has a tremendous work ethic. He is a late bloomer, coming
out of high school, not recruited, and now throwing in the mid
to upper 80s, Jake is getting better everyday [he takes the
mound].
Georgia State is also representing the Dukes Pitching staff with
the addition of Adam Knight. Knight the right hander from
Ringgold, GA has pitched well so far for the Panthers and
looking to throw even better for the Dukes. This year the 66
presence has appeared in 13 games which is tied for third on the
team. He started in four of his appearances. One of his starts
resulted in a complete game against Alabama A&M, giving up only
two Earned Runs and compiling four punch outs. Knight has a 2-3
record but has 30 strike outs in 28 innings or work.
